This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile and desktop applications (the "Apps") that Ten Gallon Apps, LLC ("we," "us," "our") publishes through consumer app stores — including Google Play, the Apple App Store, and the Microsoft Store — or makes available for direct download, across all operating systems and devices on which they are distributed. It does not apply to any websites, web applications, or online services we may host on our own servers, which are governed by their own separate privacy policies linked from the relevant service. We have written this policy to be as clear and honest as possible. The short version is below; the full details follow.
Nothing, except the synced data in Weight Tracker described below, which is collected only if you buy Sync Devices and sign in. Otherwise the Apps do not collect, store, or transmit personal information to us, and we do not operate servers that receive data from the Apps. (This statement applies to the Apps as defined above; any online services we may operate are governed by their own separate policies.)
Each App may store the following locally on your device:
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it using your device's share features, or you turn on sync in Weight Tracker. It is removed when you uninstall the App.
The Apps embed services provided by Google (and, on Apple platforms, by Apple). When you use one of the Apps, these services may collect information directly on the provider's behalf under the provider's own privacy policies. We describe each service and its scope below.
Crashlytics helps us diagnose and fix crashes. When an app crashes, Crashlytics sends Google a crash report that may include the stack trace, device model, operating system version, an anonymous installation identifier, the time of the crash, and the IP address (used to infer approximate country). We do not intentionally collect personally identifying information through Crashlytics. See Privacy and Security in Firebase for Google's description of retention and processing.
Google Analytics for Firebase helps us understand how the Apps are used so we can decide what to improve. It records usage events such as when an App is opened or updated, how long a session lasts, and which screens are viewed, along with the device model, operating system version, App version, approximate country inferred from the IP address, and a random per-installation identifier that Google generates for the App. That identifier is not tied to your name, email address, or Google account, and it is reset when you uninstall the App. We do not send Analytics anything you type into the Apps, and we do not use it to identify you. In our paid, ad-free apps, the Apps are configured so that Analytics does not read your device's Advertising ID; in ad-supported apps, the Advertising ID is governed by the AdMob section below. Weight Tracker can keep your weights the same on all your phones and tablets. Sync is off until you buy the Sync Devices in-app purchase and sign in with your Google account. While it is on, two things are stored with Google Firebase, which Google runs for us in the United States:
This data is used only to keep your devices in step. It is not used for advertising or analytics, it is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone. It is sent encrypted, Google stores it encrypted, and the app's security rules let only your signed-in account read or change it. We do not look at it, except to delete it when you ask us to.
Your synced data is kept until you delete it. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete it. To delete it, use Settings → Delete synced data in the app, which removes your weighings and your sign-in record from the cloud right away and keeps the weights on your devices. You can also ask us to delete it without the app; see Delete your Weight Tracker data. Google may keep copies in its backups for up to 180 days before they are erased. Some of our apps are free and supported by advertising served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID, IP address, approximate (IP-derived) location, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent prompt before personalized ads are loaded; declining results in non-personalized ads. On iOS and iPadOS, personalized advertising additionally requires your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; declining similarly results in non-personalized ads. You can review and reset your Advertising ID and ad personalization settings at any time in your device's system settings. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Some of our apps offer an optional in-app purchase: to remove ads, or in Weight Tracker, to turn on sync. On Android, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing; on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, it is processed by Apple StoreKit. In all cases, the store handles the transaction and we never receive or store your payment card data. After purchase, the app stores only a local flag on your device recording the purchase, and checks it with the store on launch.
Some of our apps are purchased upfront through an app store such as Google Play, the Apple App Store, or the Microsoft Store. That purchase is handled entirely by the store before the app runs; our app does not process your payment information. Apart from Weight Tracker's synced data, our apps do not collect personal information about you, so we hold no other personal data to disclose, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can delete Weight Tracker's synced data yourself in the app, or ask us to; see Delete your Weight Tracker data. Our apps are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used our apps and that personal information was collected by an embedded service, please contact us and we will work with the relevant provider to address it.
The Google services embedded in our apps may transfer and process data in the United States and other countries where Google operates. These transfers are handled by Google under its own policies and legal safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add or remove a third-party service. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
